A recent study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that men with high blood pressure who train with weights and improve their strength and muscle had a much lower risk of dying compared to a control group in the lowest category of strength. Muscular strength is inversely associated with mortality in healthy men, but this association had not been tested in men with high blood pressure (hypertension).
